Stallions

At Dalbrae we have two resident stallions.

Weston Park Tipperary Weston Paladin x Weston Treasure [SOD Weston Hoopla]

Purchased from Janet Evans in 1998 as a yearling. At the time we had the choice of a couple of lovely colts but were drawn to Tipperary because of his “scopiness” and elegance.  He has superb bloodlines with a double cross of Revel Pye – and Clan Pip - and is out of one of our all time favourite Weston mares, Weston Treasure. He has a super temperament and is always the first to greet you in the paddock running with his mares.

WP Tipperary had an outstanding in-hand show career taking out numerous Champion and Supreme awards in South Australia and Victoria.                                     photos above: left Stephen Wiltshire Westbury Stud left Gary Jamieson

Some highlights include: Supreme Foal Futurity 2000 Victorian All Welsh Champion Welsh Mountain Pony Colt/stallion 2000 Royal Adelaide Supreme Youngstock and Supreme of Show 2000 SA All Welsh Supreme in Hand 2000 Victorian Welsh Feature Show Supreme Exhibit 2001 SA All Welsh Supreme of Show 2001 SA Pony Breeders And Fanciers Show Some of his successful prodgeny include Dalbrae Tori (Flowerdale Tempo [SOD Imperial Pablo) pictured opposite photo D Moss; Dalbrae Megan (Dalbrae Tavy [SOD Imperial Haroun]); Dalbrae Vanity (Weston Park Verbena [SOD Owendale Bart]) and Dalbrae Verity (Weston Park Virgilia [SOD Carnalw Hyderus]).

Vintage was also acquired from Janet Evans in Victoria.  He came to us as part of the package deal when we purchased Weston Virgilia from Janet in 2002 with WP Vintage at foot.  WP Vintage is a strong, well boned typey Section A with outstanding action.  (Those who have seen him in the show ring can attest to this as he drags me around the ring.) WP Vintage has also had a brilliant show career. 

Some of the highlights include: Supreme of Show 2005 SA Welsh Young Stock Show Grand Champion Young Stock Exhibit 05 Welsh National Show Best Young Stock Welsh Mountain 05 Vic Welsh Feature Show WP Vintage only has two crops of foals (all fillies!) and sadly none have yet made it to the show ring because of EI.
